# How to get a new job – tips for beginners

You're just two steps away from your first project: fill out your profile and send an offer.

### Profile

**Step 1: Fill out your profile**

A complete profile means more client trust and more invitations to work.

To fill out your profile, log in to Useme and go to *Settings* → [*Freelancer*](https://useme.com/en/roles/contractor/profile/).

- Profile picture

Add a photo of your face. People trust people.

- “About me” section

Write 2–3 sentences about who you are and what services you offer.

- Categories and skills

Clients use them to find your profile. Pick only the ones you specialize in.

- CV / Résumé

Add your work history, not just full-time jobs.

- Portfolio

Show your 3–5 best projects.

### Offers

**Step 2: Send offers for jobs**

Your profile is ready. Now you can browse jobs and apply.

This is Useme Jobs, the job marketplace. You can filter jobs in 3 ways:

- type a keyword in the search bar,
- select a category,
- enter skills.

Open a job. Now you can ask for details or send your offer right away.

- Add a description. Share links to your work from a similar specialization.
- Choose whether you want to transfer the copyright.
- Give a realistic deadline and your price.
- Send an offer and wait for a reply.

### From your client’s perspective

Click your profile picture and open the profile preview. This is how your client will see it.

Every job paid through Useme shows on your profile. The more contracts you have, the more trust you build with future clients.

Build habits that attract new clients.

- Update your profile

Add every new project to your portfolio so it shows your current skills.

- Ask for reviews

After a successful job, always ask the client for a review. Each review builds your credibility, because it shows on your profile.

- Add a banner

Ideally, with a short message about how you help clients. You can design it in Canva.
