# How to negotiate rates?

#### If you deicde to change your budget (for example, due to a change in the scope of work), you can ask the freelancer to change their rate.

**If you would like to do so,[send a private message](https://help.useme.eu/hc/en-us/articles/360021316560-How-to-contact-a-freelancer-) to a freelancer.**

1. Go to your *Dashboard → Useme Jobs →  Jobs.*
2. Choose the job.
3. Click the button "Message" next to the freelancer to start the conversation.

When you agree on the new terms, the freelancer should change the budget in his offer. We will inform you about it this in a separate email. If you accept the changed offer, select the freelancer. A deal will be made on the the basis of this offer. In the next step we will send you a proforma/deposit request.
