What is adding an offer?
Adding or sending an offer is, in other words, applying for a job posted on Useme Jobs. You can discover jobs across different industries posted by companies and individuals from various countries.
In your offer, you describe how you will complete the work and why you’re the perfect fit. After reviewing all freelancer offers, the client chooses one or several candidates for the job.
Once you complete your work and the client accepts your work files, we will send you your payment. So, the whole collaboration – from recruitment to money transfer happens on Useme, which makes it convenient and legal.
Below, we’ll show you step-by-step instructions on how to add an offer and what to do if you need to edit it later.
What do you need to add an offer
To add an offer for a job, you need to meet these conditions:
- You must log in (check the signup guide).
- You must have a verified freelancer account on Useme (check what account verification is).
- Your profile needs at least two completed sections: About me and Portfolio or About me and CV / Résumé (check how to complete your profile).
You can add up to 5 offers before we verify your account (provided you complete the profile sections mentioned above).
Adding an offer step by step
1. Find the right job
Go to Useme Jobs and use the job categories on the left-hand side or the search bar to narrow down the list. For example, you can filter by category (like Marketing or Design) or specific skills (like WordPress or Figma).
Once you see a job you’re interested in, click on it to view the details and add your offer.
2. Message the client (optional)
If you need more information about the task, you can message the client before adding your offer. Click “Ask for details” to send them a question.
3. Describe your offer
When you’re ready to apply, click “Add an offer.” A form will appear where you need to include the following details:
- scope of work,
- why you’re a good fit for the task,
- price,
- workdays,
- copyright options.
When it comes to copyright, you have three options (check how they differ):
- License – you grant the right to use your work for a specified period.
- Copyright transfer – you transfer the economic copyrights to your work.
- No copyright transfer – you keep all copyrights to your work.
Review everything and click “Post the offer” to send your offer to the client.
4. Edit your offer (optional)
You can edit your offer until the client accepts it. To make changes, go to Dashboard → Useme Jobs → Offers, open the offer, and click “Edit the offer.”
Why can't I add an offer?
You may encounter issues when adding an offer if you don’t meet the conditions mentioned above:
- Your account is not verified.
- You haven’t completed at least two sections of your freelancer profile (About me and either Portfolio or CV / Résumé).
If any of these are true, fix them first to be eligible for jobs on Useme Jobs.
Can other freelancers see my offer?
No, other freelancers can’t see the details of your offer. Freelancers only see a list of users who added offers under Submitted offers, but the content of those offers remains private. Your offer is only visible to you and the client.
Tips for pricing your work
One of the required fields when filling out your offer is the price. This is the net amount (excluding VAT) that will appear on the client's invoice.
How to set the best price for your work:
- Read the job post carefully. Understand the full scope of work before calculating your rate.
- Don’t overprice or underprice. A high price combined with a weak portfolio can drive clients away. Too low a price might not reflect the quality of your services.
- Ask questions if needed. If you don’t have enough details to set a precise price, enter an average value. Then, message a client to clarify what you included in this price and what might cost extra.
- If you need to change the price after adding your offer, message the client and adjust it accordingly. If the price needs to change after they accept your offer, contact Useme through the contact form for help. We’ll contact the client to make sure they accept the new price.
How many offers can I add?
You can add one offer per job, but you can add offers to as many jobs as you want. However, make sure each offer is unique and adapted to the specific job. Copying the same offer and sending it to multiple clients can be flagged as spam and may lead to a temporary or permanent block of your account.
Create a personal and thoughtful offer for every job to increase your chances of being chosen.
