How to set payout methods

After each successful deal, we send the payment to your chosen account – we call it a payout method. Learn what payout methods are available and which work best regarding currency conversion.

A payout method is the account where we’ll send your payment. We can issue an invoice for your client in one of our four currencies, and you can receive your payment in this or a different currency.

Below, we explain the available options. If you’re new to Useme, check also how to invoice your clients step by step

How do payout methods work?

Every deal (transaction with a client) on Useme has a defined currency. You choose the currency when filling out the Invoice a client form:

  • US dollars (USD)
  • Euro (EUR)
  • British pounds (GBP)
  • Polish zloty (PLN)

We’ll issue the invoice to your client in the chosen currency. They have to pay in the same currency as stated on the invoice.

Then, we’ll transfer the money to you using the payout method assigned to that deal’s currency.

To add a payout method, log in to your Useme account, hover over your avatar in the top right corner, and go to Settings → Payouts.

How to get paid in your preferred currency

If none of our four invoicing currencies (EUR, USD, GBP, PLN) works for you, that’s okay. You can still receive payments directly to an account in your preferred currency, keeping the currency conversion fee in mind.

Here’s how it works.

Example 1

You live in the Czech Republic and want to receive payment in Czech crowns. You chose euro as the currency for the invoice issued to your client, who is French. Then, you set your Czech account as the payout method for EUR in Payouts.

Example 2

You live in Mexico, but your client from the USA wants to settle deals in USD. You want to get paid in MXN. So, you choose dollars as the currency for the invoice issued to your client, and then you set your MXN account as the payout method for USD.

Bank accounts and currency conversion

When entering your account number, use the IBAN format, which starts with two letters before the account number. For countries outside the EU, enter also BIC/SWIFT number. You can find it on your bank's website.

When entering your bank account details, make sure to:

  • Pick the right country for your account.
  • Choose one of the available currencies.

Your payout doesn’t have to be in the deal’s currency. You can add a bank account in a currency different from the one on the invoice. However, this can lead to currency conversion and lower your pay.

Receiving USD to bank accounts

The best option to get paid in USD, is to use a bank account registered in the USA or a verified Wise account.

If your account is outside the USA, you might face double currency conversion, which can lower your pay. To prevent that, choose the currency of your bank account’s country.

Wise account

Wise offers good (mid-market) exchange rates, so we recommend using it for payouts from Useme. You can maintain accounts in different currencies and select your preferred currency to receive payments.
