1. Who does the new pricing apply to?
Employers who want to base their transactions on the new pricing need to cover the service fee. To cover the service fee, email us at employer@useme.com.
As before, we add a small service fee to your transactions with freelancers on Useme. Then, the service fee will be added to the invoice for the freelancer’s work.
2. New pricing in a nutshell
The key rules of the updated pricing for employers include:
- The more freelancers, the lower your service fee: As you can see in the calculations below, the more freelancers you work with on Useme, the lower your service fee is.
- Plans: The new pricing comes with three plans (see pt 3). Each plan implies a different service fee. You’re assigned to the plan based on your monthly number of freelancers on Useme.
- Maximum service fee: Our service fee is a percentage of the net amount stated on the invoice from the freelancer but it’s never higher than €99 per transaction.
- Minimum service fee: Our service fee is a percentage of the net amount stated on the invoice from the freelancer but it’s never lower than €5 per transaction.
- No subscriptions or set-up fees: We don’t charge fixed fees – you pay only when you make a transaction with another user. We also don’t charge a set-up fee. Creating and running an account has always been free.
Regardless of how many freelancers you work with and what plan applies to you, Useme always gives you access to the following:
- bulk payments,
- collective invoicing,
- escrow service,
- Customer Service team’s support,
- our base of 160k+ international freelancers,
- automated online copyright transfer.
The following sections include demonstrative calculations for each plan. They help explain how our service fee works. We use EUR in our calculations but the same rules apply to USD.
3. Plans for employers
Plan 1 – demonstrative calculations
Let’s assume you’re assigned to Plan 1 because your average number of freelancers per month is two. We’ll calculate the service fee for transactions with two freelancers: John and Joanne.
- You got one invoice from John for €2500. Your service fee (Plan 1: 4.5%) will be €112.5. However, you’ll pay only €99 because that’s the maximum service fee for a single transaction.
- You got one invoice from Joanne for €100. Your service fee will be €4.5. However, you’ll pay €5 because that’s the minimum service fee for a single transaction.
The total service fee for your transactions is €104.
Plan 2 – demonstrative calculations
Let’s assume you’re assigned to Plan 2 because your average number of freelancers per month is three. We’ll calculate the service fee for transactions with two freelancers: Eva, Ethan, and Eleanore.
- You got one invoice from Eva for €2500. Your service fee (Plan 2: 4.3%) will be €107.5. However, you’ll pay only €99 because that’s the maximum service fee for a single transaction.
- You got one invoice from Ethan for €100. Your service fee will be €4.3. However, you’ll pay €5 because that’s the minimum service fee for a single transaction.
- You got two invoices from Eleanore: for €250 with a service fee of €10.75 and for €370 with a service fee of €15.91.
The total service fee for your transactions is €130.66.
Plan 3 – demonstrative calculations
Let’s assume you’re assigned to Plan 3 because your average number of freelancers per month is seven. We’ll calculate the service fee for transactions with seven freelancers: Max, Michael, Melanie, Matthew, Miles, Maya, and Margot.
- You got one invoice from Max for €3000. Your service fee (Plan 3: 4.2%) will be €126. However, you’ll pay only €99 because that’s the maximum service fee for a single transaction.
- You got one invoice from Michael for €100. Your service fee will be €4.2. However, you’ll pay €5 because that’s the minimum service fee for a single transaction.
- Five freelancers – Melanie, Matthew, Miles, Maya, and Margot – issued invoices for €200, each with a service fee of €8.40.
The total service fee for your transactions is €146.
4. How are you assigned to the plan?
Your plan depends on how many freelancers you collaborate with on Useme and how long you’ve used the platform.
Your plan after 6 months of using Useme
If you’ve been settling deals with freelancers on Useme for at least six months, your plan depends on the average number of freelancers you paid in the last three months.
For example, if you pay 4 freelancers in August, 2 freelancers in September, and 1 freelancer in October, you’ll have Plan 2 in November. The average number of freelancers from August to October is 2.3, but we round it up to 3 to your advantage, which results in Plan 2 for November (for 3-5 freelancers).
Then, in December, we’ll count the average number of freelancers based on September, October, and November. In January, we’ll take October, November, and December, etc.
Demonstrative plan assignment:
Your plan before 6 months of using Useme
If you’re just starting to work with freelancers through Useme, we don’t count the average. You’ll get Plan 1 in your first month. Then, in your second month, your plan depends on the number of freelancers during the first month. In your third month, your plan depends on the number of freelancers during the second month and so on until the fifth month.
So, you’re starting on Plan 1 in March. If, for example, you pay 1 freelancer in March, you’ll remain on Plan 1 in April. If you pay five freelancers in April, you’ll get Plan 2 in May. Not until August will we count your average number of freelancers as described in the previous paragraph.
