What is the availability status for?
Useme enables freelancers to invoice their foreign clients without formalities, but that’s not all. We also help employers find contractors and outsource remote work. In other words – we connect freelancers with their clients.
To find a contractor, employers who have accounts on Useme can go to Find a freelancer and be directed to Useme Jobs. They’ll access a freelance base in a chosen category, e.g., Marketing. You’ll also appear in that base if you have a freelancer profile on Useme. An employer can choose a freelancer and send them a private job invitation.
Thanks to your availability status, the employer will know if you’re open to working for them at the moment or not. Set up your availability status to encourage potential clients to send you private job invitations. Moreover, your profile will be positioned higher in the freelancer base.
Once you receive a job invitation, you can see it on your dashboard in Useme Jobs → Jobs → Open. Learn more.
How to set up your availability status
Only users with freelancer profiles can set up their availability status. To do so, log in to Useme and go to Settings → Freelancer → Availability. Click “Edit availability.”
Choose one option:
- “Open to work” status
- “Taking a break” status
- No status
If you choose the first or second option, employers will see a label with your status beside your profile in the Find a freelancer section. Employers can see status changes with a delay.
What availability statuses mean
1.“Open to work”- It tells employers that you want to receive job invitations on Useme Jobs and take up new projects.
- It’s set up for 30 days. After this time, it expires and changes to “No status.” The label beside your profile disappears. You’ll get an email reminder before the status expires.
- To set up the status again after 30 days, log in to Useme and go to settings.
- You can change it to “Taking a break” or “No status” at any time; you don’t have to wait 30 days.
- It tells employers that you don’t want to receive job invitations on Useme Jobs and take up new projects.
- It doesn’t expire—you can manually change it to “Open to work” or “No status” in settings.
- It doesn’t affect your account. You can still use all Useme features and take up new projects on Useme Jobs.
- Employers won’t see any availability status label beside your profile.
- It’s a default setting, and it doesn’t expire. You can change it to “Open to work” or “Taking a break” at any time.
