Work files confirm that you completed the job
You can invoice your client through Useme only if you have a work file that confirms that the job is completed. Work files don’t have to contain the entire work. It can be:
- a screenshot confirming work completion,
- a part or several parts of the work,
- an hourly form (time sheet),
- a report confirming work.
Each job category (like Marketing or Web development) requires specific types of files. Below, you’ll find examples of acceptable work files.
Web development, programming, IT
- screenshot of the website,
- screenshots confirming completed tasks,
- code snippet,
- output files.
Multimedia (e.g., photography, video)
- several frames or screenshots from the video with a visible timeline,
- trailer,
- a few edited or raw photos,
- screenshot of a folder containing the delivered images (showing thumbnails).
Marketing (e.g., copywriting, social media, SEO)

- screenshot with visible text,
- screenshot of the editor where texts are created,

- report (e.g., from Google Analytics or another tool).
Design

What if I have a confidentiality agreement (NDA) with my client?
If you’re bound by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), you have two options:
- Upload a redacted work file that does not contain confidential data (e.g., a report with hidden client details).
- Ask your client to message us to agree on a solution that meets their needs, such as signing an NDA agreement with Useme. See a sample document we can sign with your client.
My client already has my work – do I still need to upload files?
Yes. Uploading work files to Useme is required to get paid. Even if your client confirms they received your work through another method (e.g., email), it is not enough.
Files from freelancers help us process payments legally and follow the rules. If there's an official inspection, they show that the online contract was completed properly.
What if I don’t have access to my work files?
Uploading files is mandatory to receive payment. If you no longer have access to the files, ask your client to send you screenshots confirming completed work or links to the work you delivered.
File upload limits and rules
You can upload up to 50 files or up to 100 GB per deal. Work files can’t be empty or too small – their size should match the type of work you did. All formats are accepted.
Each file needs to be unique – you can’t reuse a file that you or someone else already used in a previous deal on Useme.
