What is identity verification?
Identity verification is the process of ensuring that you are who you say you are. It’s necessary to make transactions via Useme since it lets us prevent and counter the risk of money laundering and tax fraud. Besides, a verified profile makes you look more professional and trustworthy for your client.
During verification, you must show your ID and face to the camera. The verification is done using the Shufti Pro app and takes about 10 minutes.
Shufti Pro will process and store the personal data you provide during verification. It’s a trusted and specialized company with all the necessary security measures and technical solutions to protect your data.
When do you need to verify your identity?
We need you to verify your identity in most cases, precisely if you:
- pay taxes in a country other than Poland;
- are a citizen of a country other than Poland;
- changed your name in the profile after a previous verification.
What documents do you need for identity verification?
Prepare:
- a valid photo ID: ID card, driver's license, or passport (to streamline the verification, it should be a document from your country of origin),
- a phone with a camera or a computer with a webcam.
How to do identity verification
You can do it in two ways:
- At the end of invoicing your client.
- Directly from your profile: go to Settings → General → Identity verification and click “Verify.”

What happens if you don't complete identity verification?
You can still use our platform, but your invoices won’t be automatically sent to clients until you verify your identity. Our Customer Service team will have to check each invoice individually.
Once you verify your identity, your invoices will be sent automatically, and your payment will come faster.
What happens if your identity verification hasn’t been accepted?
Our Customer Service team will contact you to check what went wrong during the identity verification process and help you do it again.
How long is the verification valid?
The identity verification never expires unless you change your name on your profile. If so, you must verify your identity again.
