What is identity verification?
Identity verification is a standard process that confirms you are who you say you are. It keeps all Useme users safe and helps us prevent money laundering and tax fraud.
During verification, you must show your ID and face to the camera. The verification is done using the Shufti Pro app and takes about 10 minutes.
Shufti Pro will process and store the personal data you provide during verification. It’s a trusted and specialized company with all the necessary security measures and technical solutions to protect your data.
How to do identity verification
- Prepare:
- a valid photo ID: ID card, driver's license, or passport,
- a phone with a camera or a computer with a webcam.
- Log in to Useme.
- Go to Settings > General > Identity verification.
- Click “Verify.”
- We’ll direct you to the Shufti Pro app.

Our Customer Service team will contact you to check what went wrong during the identity verification process and help you do it again.
How long is the verification valid?
The identity verification never expires unless you change your name on your profile. If so, you must verify your identity again.
I don't see the identity verification option – why?
Not every Useme user needs to verify their identity. It depends on factors like your country of residence and your transaction history on Useme. If verification is required for your account, you'll see the option in settings.
