General rules
- Once we receive your payment, we automatically issue the final invoice. If you don’t report any changes before that, the invoice will have the same details as the deposit request.
- We can change the invoice details until it’s issued. After that, changes are only possible through a corrective invoice.
- After you report the changes, we’ll send you an updated deposit request.
- At your request, we can also add the recipient, sale date, and an extra description to the invoice.
Changes before we receive your payment
You can request changes before your transfer reaches us*. To do this, contact us and tell us what we should change.
Tell us what needs to be changed as soon as possible, even if you already sent your payment. We may still be able to make changes before the transfer reaches us.
* If you use deferred payment, follow the rules described here.
Changes after we receive the payment
Once we receive the payment, we automatically issue the final invoice. After that, we can make changes only through a corrective invoice. Contact us and tell us what we should change.
After we issue the invoice, we can no longer change its date. The invoice date will be the day we receive your payment. If you want the final invoice to fall within a specific month, pay as soon as possible.
Changing your details in settings
If you have an active Useme account, you can change most personal or company details in your settings.
After you update your details, the deposit request won’t change, but the invoice will have the updated details.
Why is there no tax ID on my invoice?
A deposit request never includes a tax ID because it isn’t an accounting document.
If your invoice doesn’t include a tax ID and you think it should, contact us.
How to extend the payment deadline
If the deadline passed less than 30 days ago, you can still use the payment link from your deposit request and pay your freelancer. Your deal will renew automatically.
If more than 30 days have passed, contact us and give us a realistic payment date. We’ll reopen the deal.
